
2009 TAPPS 2A STATE Champions
STATE CHAMPS! FIVE YEARS RUNNING...
The Holy Trinity Academic Team came in first yet again at the state meet. Led by freshman Will Linz, freshman Bradford Smith, and junior Phillip Henderson, each of whom grabbed at least one first place, the Celtics held off the competition to win the state championship with 72 points. This marks the fifth time in a row that Holy Trinity has won the state championship. Complete results are on the tournament results page.
DISTRICT CHAMPS! SEVEN YEARS RUNNING...
Holy Trinity once again is district champion in academics. The Celtics won by about 50 points, claiming their seventh straight district championship.
ACADEMIC TEAM WINS SEVEN AWARDS AT A&M CONSOLIDATED. Amy Lindberg, Will Linz, and Phillip Henderson each grabbed two medals at the A&M Consolidated UIL contest on Feb. 7. ACADEMIC TEAM TAKES NINE AWARDS, TOP NUMBER SENSE TEAM AWARD AT BELTON. The Academic Team sent four students to the Belton invitational tournament, Dec. 6, and came back with 10 overall awards. Junior Amy Lindberg and freshman William Linz led the team with three awards each. Senior Emily Linz took home two awards. Senior Rachel Hoelscher added one more. ACADEMIC TEAM WINS AT PFLUGERVILLE. The Academic Team grabbed four awards at the Pflugerville High School UIL tournament Nov. 1. William Linz took first in Number Sense. William and Rachel Hoelscher, they were the second place Number Sense team out of 68 competitors. Emily Linz took fifth in Ready Writing and fifth in Literary Criticism.
BE PART OF THE LEGACY OF CHAMPIONS! The Celtic Academic Team has won six consecutive district team championships and four consecutive state team championships. Students interested in competing on the Academic Team this year should contact Mr. Mosmeyer.
TAPPS DISTRICT MEET SET. The TAPPS 3-2A Academic District Meet will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 11. The site is yet to be determined, but it will be held at either Holy Trinity or Central Texas Christian School in Temple.
