International student application process
 

1. Apply to HTCHS.

• Submit online application
• Submit student transcripts
• Submit Teacher Recommendations forms (English and Math)
• Submit proof of housing in Temple/Belton area
• Submit information showing who has legal guardianship of student during stay
• Submit proof of income including living expenses during stay
• Schedule and pass the Skype interview for English proficiency
• Receive Acceptance letter from HTCHS

 

2. I-20

 
HTCHS provides the I-20 to the student. In order for HTCHS to process an I-20 for international students we need:

• I-20 Process form filled out by the family 
• Copy of passport.
• Parents’ or Guardian’s Bank statements (statements from person responsible for tuition/fees/living expenses)
• School’s tuition and fees schedules

All of this information will be used to file the I-20. Once the I-20 is created, the student is notified of SEVIS ID#. The family goes to the SEVIS payment site and pays the I-901 fee ($200). Once this is paid, the I-20 is valid and the school mails the original to the family.
 

3. VISA

 
The student needs to schedule an appointment for a VISA interview with the nearest US Consulate or Embassy. At the interview, they present their I-20 issued by the school (original copy), proof of I-20 payment, proof of acceptance to HTCHS. Student should be prepared for interview and consult the Study in the States Website to familiarize themselves with the process:https://studyinthestates.dhs.gov/
 

4. Travel to USA:

 
Once they obtain their VISA, the student needs to make travel arrangements and arrive with enough time to obtain uniforms and books and everything needed.
Student must travel with passport and I-20 and Visa on their person (not in the luggage in case luggage is lost). Student must also travel with principal and admissions directors contact info (personal cell phone #s).
